Diving in the Quirimbas
One of our favourite dive spots is the Quirimba Islands. With only 8 Chalets on the Island it is a great trip for families or a group of friends. Come with us to the Island Resort, a tropical getaway in the Quimbras, Mozambique. Here is an opportunity to come dive at some of the most pristine reefs on the Mozambique coast. A diver’s ultimate get-away with 18 reefs to choose from, including wall dives from 6m to 27m, coral reefs and various bommies/attols. You can explore several extremely worthwhile bommies/atolls within spitting distance of the resort, and others in fairly close proximity.
For those who are not yet qualified, come do your PADI Open Water Courses whilst you are visiting.
How to get there:
Airlink: Fly direct to Pemba and be picked up by Resort staff: Cost about R10 000
LAM: Fly with Mozambique airlines via Maputo to Pemba, longer flight, but land at same time as the airlink flight, but not so reliable: Cost from 6500
Transported to the Resort by Boat (1,5 to 2 hours)
Exclusivity: Max 14 people allowed on a tour. Only 7 chalets on the Island. It is absolutely paradise! There will be an additional rate for bookings of 6 or less people.

About the Quirimbas, Northern Mozambique
The Quirimbas Islands lie in the Indean Ocean off northeastern Mozambique close to Pemba, the capital of the province of Cabo Delgado. The Archipelago consists of about 32 islands all going up to the Tanzanian border. These islands are known for their diving sites, some up to 400 meters. The Quirimbas National park spanning an area of 7,500 square kilometres (2,900 sq mi), includes the 11 most southerly islands, which are partly surrounded by mangroves. The park was established in 2002 as a protected area.
Strategically placed around the Clubhouse and maximising the main beach, are the 8 individual chalets. Each chalet, is carefully situated to enjoy a front-row seaside view.
